AC101 POTTERY
$170.00
THIS CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO LACK OF REGISTRATION. PLEASE CALL 266-0150 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TAKING THIS CLASS AT A LATER DATE. WE WILL PUT YOU ON A WAITING LIST. Come to a fun, relaxed environment and learn how to create pottery. A variety of hand-building techniques will be taught, as well as exploration on the pottery wheel. If you always wanted to learn how to throw, this is your chance! We will create a series of functional bowls, jars, or vases depending on your preference. Then we will explore the non-functional/decorative aspects of pottery and create a unique wall hanging. In this class, you will also learn new texture and glazing techniques to add unique qualities to your pottery. This is a great class for students of all abilities and experience. Kristen Blaker is an artist and art teacher at Cache la Poudre Elementary and would love to help you become more creative, relieve stress, build personal time into your busy life, connect with other artists in your community, and create some fabulous artwork!

AC102 ALTERED BOOKS / ART JOURNALS
$170.00
Get 10 classes in 1! Explore many artistic mediums by creating an expressive art journal using the altered book method. An altered book is any book that has been recycled by creative means into a work of art! Each week we will use a new medium to create a new page in the book. Watercolor, embroidery, drawing, printmaking, batik, acrylic paint, and more will all be taught as we create our unique personal journals. An old book will get new life as it is transformed into a work of art that can be kept as an art journal and added to after the class is over. Each class will begin with a journal question to get the creativity flowing. This is a great class for someone looking to tap into their creativity, but not sure where to begin. Altered books are a great, non-threatening way to create art, since you don't have to worry about what to do with a blank white piece of paper. Techniques such as found poetry, image transfers, and various collage techniques will be explored. You will just need to bring an old book to be transformed! Beginning through experienced artists welcome.
